vBulletin Portal?
Saturday ~ March 03, 2010
It's been a while since I have been around, but after the recent IPB license changes it looks like i'm ready to make the switch. I'm a long time IPB guy and have 2 lifetime and 3 perpetual licenses for various sites but need another for a new business site.
I know that IPB comes standard with a portal which you can use for the site index to display news or posts from a select section of the forum. Until I have time to design a new site I would like to have a portal interface in its place for my soon to be new vBulletin board. Does this come standard or do you have to locate a third party mod for this? I did find one at vBadvanced. Are there better places to look?
I tried searching for portal at vBulletin.org but didn't get very far.
Your input much appreciated.
I have been using it for about 3 years now with no problem.
Now, when I went to buy another perpetual license I see that they offer two licenses. See below
IP.Board: Standard License
IP.Board forum community software for $149.99 including six months of ticket support and access to upgrades along with 30 days of telephone support. Renew access to ticket support and upgrades after six months for just $25.00.
IP.Board: Business License
IP.Board forum community software for $299.99 including six months of ticket support, telephone support, and access to upgrades along with expedited response times. Renew access to ticket support, telephone support and upgrades after six months for just $50.00.Neither of those licenses suit my needs, so I am looking to have my next forum be vBulletin.
Thank you for your interest in the vBulletin Forum Software and for contacting vBulletin Sales.
We do not have an official portal or frontpage or cms to offer, but on vBulletin.org I believe there are a few. Otherwise take a look at vBAdvanced.com or vBPortal.com - but please note we do not officially support or recommend these.
I want to point out if you want to purchase multiple licenses of the same type that we can offer you a bulk discount from 3 or more on. For example, one owned license is $160, but 3 - 5 owned licenses are $148 each. And 6 or more even less.
