Users cannot read messages

  • I have several users reporting the same problem.
    vb 3.7beta.

    I logon, and then I click on a Forum, it gives me the list of threads ok, but when I try to look at the thread a message pops up to say that 'Explorer cant open the internet site' 'operation aborted', it gives me an OK button.
    when I click on the OK butten I get a screen that says 'This page Cannot Be Displayed', whatever I do then I just get the origional error message back, and then the 'page cannot be displayed',

    Can anyone suggest what is going on?
    These users have full access permissions. One is very net savvy and well used to forums so isn't doing anything obviously silly.

    Would be so grateful for help as these are 2 of my very small list of mods! and I need their active help.

    LATER - Seems to be an Internet Explorer thing. I have a user says he finds same error but all works fine in Firefox.


  • Do you have any modifications installed? I would especially check for ones that have something to do with threads. Maybe try disabling them and see if the problem still persists.


  • I have one that means I can add the number of a usergroup to a forum (in admin) and that usergroup gets email notifications.


  • Upgrade to the latest beta or turn off the lightbox feature on your forums. This is cause by an issue in Internet Explorer where there are too many tables around the lightbox functionality. This error is not triggered on the default style.


  • I'm having this issue with http://forums.modulardepot.com Won't load Admin, I get the same message.
