okay so i have only completed one year of spanish. I passed the highest level in spanish and my college councilor at school said that it would be fine because i passed the highest possible spanish that was offered at school, there is no point in having me go to spanish 3 if i passed spanish 4...but i want a second opinion...can i still get accepted or will they count it as not fulfilling my 2 year requirement
Hmm thats a good question. Technically they want 2 years of language class so you learn a new language, since you tested into Spanish 4 you are obviously already gifted and fluent in the language. If you took the Spanish 4 AP test then there is no need to worry, but if you get accepted into a UC your conselor will tell you if it is a deficiency or not and you might have to take another langauge class in college. I recommend e-mail someone who works at UC admissions about this.
If you haven't taken the Spanish 4 AP test I recommend you take it and if you have then talk to someone and see if you need to take Spanish 5 AP or if you need to take the Spanish 5 AP test.
