trying some sidelighting

  • ok if you have seen any of my fotos you know i suck at portraits lol. but i tried some today with light coming in through the basement window. any commmetns are welcome. and if you have helful hints that is awesome! used the schools digital rebel, my 28-105 lens, 100iso, used fotoshop to make the background darker, natural light! woohoo. lol

    lafoto- yeah it is me, and yeah i thought the focus was a wee bit out but i tried my best i guess... need a longer remote shutter release! lol. thanks for the comment on ps also. i will work on it more!

  • Nice work! The 6th frame made me laugh out loud. I think the shots need a foamcore bounce to open the shadows.

    I am with Mentos: it is No. 4 for me - or hang on. Let me count again (the numbers are UNDERNEATH!) ... 5 - I like your (?) funny face in 5!
    In some I find you overdid your PS work what with darkening the background (2, for example) ... but then 2 and 3 look "rescued" to me, anyway, for they are slightly out of focus.
