Where would be a good scary/spooky three day weekend Halloween-esque destination?

Saturday ~ March 03, 2010

My friends and I [a minimum of five, maximum of twenty] are trying to find the best scary/spooky place to get together next year over the Halloween weekend.

Most things that I have found are great for a 'scary' nightly tour but would not have enough around to keep a group of women of varying ages occupied and entertained for an entire weekend.

Due to the fact that there might be more than one carload of us I am trying to keep the driving time minimum [however a shuttle rental from a local airport to bring us to/from the destination is more than acceptable, I just don't want to have to drive everywhere during our weekend excursion].

We are trying to keep it somewhere in the continental US.

I would certainly appreciate anyone's thoughts and/or comments on this.

Yes, I am aware that I have over a year but if it ends up being a hugely popular Halloween destination I am one of those people who are disgustingly on top of things and would like to have time to play with options rather than book something at the last minute. Thanks bunches!

PS I grew up in Massachusetts and find Salem, MA overrated. I am not saying that I am looking for a 'real' haunted house but something more off the radar.
