  • not quite sure why i'm getting this having just run the installation, or how to fix it?

  • Try to upload tools.php to folder admincp and Rebuild Bitfield Cache. i get this error

and at the top of the page: Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in includesclass_core.php on line 2490
    var SESSIONHASH = "";

There seems to have been a problem with the database.
Please try again by clicking the Refresh (http://localhost/3.5.x/forums/admincp/tools.php?do=bitfields#) button in your web browser.
An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff (dbmaster@example.com), who you can also contact if the problem persists.
    We apologise for any inconvenience.

  • the exact error i'm getting is
    http://localhost/3.5.x/forums/cpstyles//cp_logo.gif vBulletin 3.5 Upgrade System
(Please be patient as some parts may take some time) (http://localhost/3.5.x/forums/install/upgrade.php)

Step 1) Create New vBulletin 3 Tables (Step 1 of 42) XML File Versions:

    vbulletin-style.xml
    vbulletin-settings.xml
    vbulletin-language.xml

    3.5.0 Beta 1
    3.5.0 Beta 1
3.5.0 Beta 1 Step 1) Create New vBulletin 3 Tables
    vBulletin v3.0.0 Beta 3, ©2000 - 2005, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. (../)

btw the css is missing, not sure if that helps you diagnose the problem?

  • would you say go through the installation again once i've done that?

wait wait wait, i think it's working now :o

  • Try to upload tools.php to folder admincp and Rebuild Bitfield Cache.

  • i ran the "install/upgrade.php"

  • Upgrade php, 5.0.3 and 4.3.10 have some nasty buggies.

  • why have mine gone missing?

  • ok got the initial problem again, i restart my computer, reboot my localhost and Fatal error: Please upgrade to vBulletin 3.5.0 or greater in includesinit.php on line 163

    what is "$vbulletin->bf_ugp"?

  • so it was somewhat related to php? :D glad we got it fixed.

  • Are you sure the database you restored is from a 3.0.7 board?

  • this still won't allow me to upgrade.

  • Perhaps somthing has gone bad during the upgrade?
went perfectly, i used it before i restarted the computer.

  • now i'm getting this.

Your vBulletin version does not appear to match with the version for which this script was created (version 3.0.7).

Please ensure that you are attempting to run the correct script.

If you are sure this is the script you would like to run, click here (http://localhost/3.5.x/forums/install/upgrade_350b1.php?step=1).

    run anyway?

  • If you are not seeing the css, then this means the files have not been uploaded correctly. I would reupload them.

  • 100%

  • Same problem, i fixed changing datastore cache from file to database again.
Cache file was set to zero bytes.

  • upgrading php should be fairly simple... copy and paste :D restart server, for windows anyway

  • nope i meant reinstall the vBulletin, but the upgrade did indeed get everything working again, thank you so much zachery, and thank you boxy oh and thank you too kirby :)

  • just run 3.5

basically i created a new directory and put all the 3.5 files in there.
then created a db and restored a 3.0.7 version in there.
    then edited the config.php
then ran the installer which tried to send me to 3.0.0. beta install
i manually went to 3.5 assuming it was just a cookie issue (having just created the dir)
then i got through the installation and ended up getting this message

oh and i'm running it in "http://localhost/3.5.x/forums/"

  • What are you running on your localhost, I was able to get 3.5 running in apache 2.0.54 php 5.0.5-dev and mysql 4.1.10a

  • the bitfields for usergroup permissions.

  • If you've restored a 3.0.7 database you need to run the upgrade not the install script.

  • Apache 2.0.53, PHP 5.0.3 and MySQL 4.1.7

  • thanks, redownloaded from the members area and now it seems to be working :)

  • either php, sql or apache, i upgraded all three.

  • Perhaps somthing has gone bad during the upgrade?

  • Okay, try this. Create a new database and restore the 3.0.7 back to it. Then go directly to the upgrade_350b1.php script, ie http://localhost/3.5.x/forums/install/upgrade_350b1.php? (http://localhost/3.5.x/forums/install/upgrade_350b1.php)

  • just restored the bkp database again to try and start again, manually edited the bburl path to reflect the localhost instead of the live version.

and then it came up with the upgrade script properly but froze on http://localhost/3.5.x/forums/install/upgrade_300b3.php?step=1

    http://localhost/3.5.x/forums/cpstyles//cp_logo.gif vBulletin 3.5 Upgrade System

    vBulletin v3.0.0 Beta 3, ©2000 - 2005, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. (http://www.vbulletin.com/)
that's it, nothing else, no step two or nothing.

  • I recommend that you re-upload all the original vB and non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server.

What were you attempting to do when you got this error?
