How to make good southern iced tea?

Good sweet tea is made by steeping tea (tea leaves or tea bags) then adding simple syrup to taste. Serve slices of lemon with the tea too.
To make simple syrup combine equal parts of water and sugar. Stir to blend. Heat to a boil then cool. Use to sweeten beverages.
boil water
add desired amount of sugar to hot water
brew tea after a few minutes in the water
put in a pitcher and place in the fridge until cool
add ice cubes
drink!
you can also add some lemon if you wish but just use some trial and error to get your specific taste! enjoy!
fill coffee pot with cold water (full ) 12 cup mark as if you were brewing coffee.. instead of coffee place the tea in the coffee filter look on the coffee mix jar and compare with a 12 cup measuring as to how much coffee you need to put in the filter my guess would be mmmm 5-6 tablespoons i use tea bags and use 6 tea bags in mine.. get your jug i use gallon.. and put 2 cups of sugar in it and when the coffee gets done brewing all the way pour hot coffee onto sugar and stir.. the hottness will melt the sugar when the sugar is melted add cold water until the jug is full and stir..Put in fridge and let get cold and DRINK!!!
Boil 1 large (pasta size) pot of water with 3 bags of tea and 1/2 of a lemon. Boil for about 15-20 minutes and reduce heat to the lowest setting that you have. Let simmer for about 2 hours. Pour about 3.5 cups of sugar into a jar and pour the hot tea over it. Mix until the sugar is combined and chill.
