a couple of my friends who have already had sex asked if i had a promise ring i told them no that ive thought about but i just dont want to commit to the idea of waiting till im married because i may be ready to have sex later on (not now obviously because im only fourteen)but may not be ready to get married they called me a loser and a sl*ut but i dont get how im a s*lut?any reason why they might have said this?

I don't know why they would've said that, maybe they're just jerks? I'm not trying to criticize your friends or say your friends are ALWAYS jerks, I'm just saying that what they said about that is jerkish.

You're NOT a slut. Those friends of yours are real jerks for saying that to you. I don't know if you fully understand how disrespectful and nasty that was of them to say that, but I do think that you should let them know that you think they are really mean and wrong for saying that, and then lose them. Friends don't say stuff like that about each other, period!
ETA: I suggest printing this out and showing it to them, or perhaps giving them the link to this page so that they can see how disgusting everyone thinks they are for saying that.
If they are calling you names like sl** then they are not your friends. I can respect your honesty about what is unknown to you. Keep in mind that a lot of the idea of promise rings (to remain virgins) comes from religious affiliation and these girls may have been told in church or by their parents that if they have premarital sex that they are sluts. Ask them to apologize for being hurtful. If they don't, honor yourself by finding friends that will be respectful to you. It seems a little strange that they would be calling you a name.
because they are saying that to themselves. You can only be a slut if you have sex so it looks like you're friends are the ones that are sluts..lol Sorry. They don't know what they are talking about. I think the longer you wait to have sex the better. 14 is just way too young to be having sex. I'd advise for you to wait as long as you can.
