i woke up in the middle of the night because something wierd was hapening to both my calf muscles. It felt like my muscle were being squeezed nd twisted, i dont realy know how to explain it.
was there a reason to why this happened?
and my left calf muscle still hurts abit.
ok its leg cramps, i have this problem to a couple interesting things that actually help and are really simple are:
drink more milk
put a bar of soap under your sheet...weird but it works for me
drink some pickle juice....sounds gross but yeah lots of athletes do it and it works
if you do get one at night get up and walk a little bit...you breathe more when you move and partly what is causing this is lack of oxygen to muscles
I agree with Jenny Q about it sounding like a Charlie Horse. Hurts like h*ll & will for a couple of days. My mom (a nurse) said it's from lack of potassium which bananas are an excellent source.
could be whats called a charlie horse...could be havin' lack of calcium. try drinking more milk or takin' calcium pills maybe??
Probably a charlie horse. I get those sometimes and it leaves my calf muscles sore for days at a time. The best thing to do when you get one is to straighten your legs out and walk around for a little bit. It gets rid of the pain.
It's possible that you are experiencing a drop in calcium or potassium levels due to a variety of reasons. Try drinking a glass of milk before bed or eating a banana (which are rich in potassium)...it could also just be a general leg cramp brought on by an awkward positioning of the legs during sleep or through dehydration...again try a glass a water before bedtime...hope this helps....
